Hello!
I suppose it’s time to introduce myself, too. My name is Kristin, I live in the Salt Lake City Valley. I’m 22, have 3 cats, married and starting a family. Woo hoo!!! Until recently I was a full time student (only going part time now) pursuing a BS in Zoology with a chem minor and an art minor. What do I want to do with that? you ask… I want to illustrate textbooks. I mean, really, textbooks need pictures, too.
I love to get constructive critisism on my work and am enthusiastic about the Comment Exchange. I encourage you all to participate! For lack of a really good metaphor right now, I’ll just come out and say it. This is one of those great things where the more you put in to it, the more you’ll get out of it. So, what’re you still doing here?! Go comment!
Kristin

That’s a pretty cool direction. I totally love the idea of textbook illustration. You could also do medical illustration as well as a host of other forms of illustration. It’s a good idea to be very diversified in your capability, mostly because I’ve heard that sometimes business can be lacking in one brank from time to time and you might need to be able to fall back on other facets of illustration to keep the bills paid.
Cool, see I didnt’ even know all of that about you… and we’ve been friends on ET for the longest time. Congrats on the expanding family and good luck in your career endevors. I hope that this place can at least help you get the CC that you are looking for. Let’s work hard and get this stuff moving! yeah!

Hi Kirstin!
I agree, textbooks REALLY need pictures. My Uni textbooks bore me half to death when I have to read 600 pages with nothing pretty to look at.

Hi Kristin! That’s a fairly nordic sounding name you got there. Got roots in scandinavia somewhere perhaps?
Interesting combination of studies there, nice to see other science geeks around.

Haha, no, the name is one that I made up when I was about five. I took my favorite letter (K), then, having a lack of creativity, chose a vowel, then another consanent, then a vowel and so on, slapping my second favorite letter on to the end (y). I actually forgot about the name for a long time. It resurfaced in high school, but I don’t remember why.

As for that, I was named after our dog, Kristy. My last name - Fink (if that’s the one you’re referring to) is Swiss.

Splendid to meet you, 2nd member of the Comment Exchange!
Hail to commenting! ^_^
…were you really named after your family’s dog? o.O
That’s both really weird and really cool!
