Yay!

Also, I think that as a thread there would be more room for a dialouge between everyone, both the artist at hand and all the others, with him/her and inbetween eachother. Hopefully it will be a learning expereince.

(Did you intentionally name the new forum Workship instead of workshop?)

At first, I was thinking that was pretty much what we where all about. And that process could take place in the comments of an individual piece. However, I don't like the idea of cluttering up a images comments with stuff like that.

I like that Idea a lot. I think a new forum is in order.

If this forum ever gets a little following I think it would be a neat idea to have a sort of workshop where we could put our brilliant minds together and help eachother improve our art. So if anyone has a problem with a picture (in progress of finished that they want to re-work) they can just post it here.

Yeah, it's weird how everyone is joining some kind of military at the moment, a friend of mine is joining the navy after new years and my boyfriend wants to go to Kosovo with the peace forces this fall...

I got my hands on a copy of dreamweaver, kind of an old version. But hopefully it can do something helpful.

Hey, any help I can get, I'll take!

I'm hoping I can get someone with a strong programming background to help out. My little bro is a programming wizard, but he just recently joined the Navy and probably won't have internet access for quite some time. Actually, now that I think about it... most of my programmer friends are in the armed forces now. Hmmmmm.... an odd trend indeed.

Yay I'm glad you like dhte idea, I think it could be great fun.

Let me know if you want help handling things. I'm kind
of distracted to and from at the moment but in the middle of January my semester ends
and I'll just have to focus on work, meaning I'll have more free
creative time on my hands.

Do you think that giving the themes a seperate forum (as a place of it's own in one of the forums' groups) could work? Personally I'd prefer if it's possible to add the images straight into the posts, makes more interesting threads than just links. Just have to figure it out... why doesn't the image insert work? Hmm.

I found a PHP school online (in swedish) and if I have the time I'll look through it. Who knows maybe I can be of some help. ^^

Ps. Is it possible to make polls in the forum in some way?

In an attempt to incourage the artist of the CE both artistically and to keep updatied here maybe we could suggest weekly, bi-weekly or montly themes to create art around. Of course it's nothing new but I though it might be a fun thing to do, even if we're few at the moment. The art could possibly be presented in a forumthread where there's also room for discussion and chit chat about the art, between the artists. And of course a thread in the forum wouldn't need additional work for the admin, in terms of putting up art on a separate page.

I've tried to add an image to the post (there's an Insert image button in the toolbar) but I can't seem to get it to work.

PHP is some pretty confusing stuff. Especially when you're talking about database lookup, and scrapeing a webpage for the images there. Such an option would also discriminate against writers slightly because they wouldn't have an image and thusly people would be less drawn to their writings through that function... unless there where seperate sections for each one... and the one for writers simply displayed titles. Still, you're talking about scrapeing content and that's no easy task.

I think if we actually figure out how to do it, that we should both showcase new members but also have a random page, much like how you've made the URL's random (brilliant by the way) maybe showing off 5 - 10 random members. I'll look into PHP and see if I understand anything, and as I said previously see if I find someone that understands it already.
