I thought about doing that... but then I realized that ET doesn't email you if you get a message At the very least, I don't get emailed. So I would assume that many people also have similar funcitons. However, EW does email me (although I know I had to opt for that to happen). I figured it would be the best bet simply because it gets the word out to members, and also random people who stop by. So far it seems to have worked fairly well.

Haha. Now, that's the smart way to go about it. I used to just message everyone - one by one - on the Elftown member's list via the ET message system.

heh, I've been meaning to start that back up again. I was going through the EW pages by a search on EW for "comment exchange". My logic was that those who actually made the declairation on their profile would be more likely to be participating members (although it might not be a bad idea to go through the member list on ET either).

Here is where I left off:

http://search.elfwood.com/search.jsp?query=%22comment%20exchange%22&start=60&hitsPerPage=20

My method was simple, look at their profile to make sure they're a member. Look at a few of their pieces. Make a comment that started with an actual comment (so it isn't just spam). and end the comment with a notice that the CE is now at http://www.commentexchange.org

oh wait, I see you already added a page about that. I think it might be a little redundant though. Since there is no other reason to comment on the CE EW Tours page, we might just as well add a simple statement at the bottom of that page.

Only admins can see a saved, but unpublished, post. I do have a page for EW tours up here.
There is no way that I know of to allow people to directly edit the page information without their being admins. I'm not sure I want to grant every random user access to such power. I think the safest approach would be to allow comments on the tours page and encourage people to set up their own CE specific tours. I think that's a great idea actually. *goes to edit the page to reflect that*

So, I'm hoping you guys can see a saved, unpublished page. Anyway, I wanted to make a page for the tours where people could sign up. I'm not sure how to do it. In ET we let the members edit the page themselves, adding their entries right on to the page. I wouldn't mind letting that happen here, too, but I don't know how to set up the page to allow it. If you feel it'd keep the site's integrity better attatched we could just have people add their entry via a comment, and an admin could just update the page with it. I also want to set up a news page, again, like ET had, but we'd have the same issue as the tour page.

What do you think?
